Account Security
Change your password, set up two-factor authentication, connect Google, and delete your account.
Your security settings live under Settings in your personal account. A few minutes here meaningfully protects your work and your team's data.
Change your password
In your account settings, use the password section to set a new password. You'll enter your new password and confirm it. Choose something long and unique — a passphrase you don't use anywhere else.
Two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second step at sign-in, so a stolen password isn't enough to get in. Set it up in the multi-factor authentication section:
- Start adding a factor — the app shows a QR code.
- Scan it with an authenticator app (for example Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Authy).
- Enter the verification code the app generates to confirm.
From then on, you'll enter a fresh code from your authenticator each time you sign in. You can remove a factor later from the same screen.
Keep a backup: store your authenticator's recovery method somewhere safe. If you lose the device with no backup, you can be locked out.
Connected accounts (Google)
If you'd rather sign in with Google — or want it as an alternative to your password — use the connected accounts section to link your Google account. You can unlink it again there at any time.
Delete your account
The Danger Zone at the bottom of your settings lets you delete your account. This is permanent and removes your personal account. Note that team data is separate — if you own a team, hand over ownership or delete the team first (see Team & Members).
Good to know
- 2FA protects your login; it's the single highest-value security step you can take.
- Passkeys and magic-link sign-in are not enabled on this platform — password and Google are the ways in.
